WildC.A.T.S #1-4 (1992-1993)
Image/Malibu
Brandon Choi, Jim Lee
Unnecessarily complicated, but ultimately more enjoyable
than I remember it being. The enjoyment in the nineties no doubt hampered by
the major delays. The artwork still holds up as does the story although its
Claremont-ian levels of exposition is rare these days. There’s a ton to unpack
in the first few issues with an alien angels versus alien demons war come to
Earth. So many government agents, assassins guilds, and “half breed” super
people it’s hard to keep track but they make it work. It also includes an alien
demonic Vice President Quayle continually referred to as Mr Potatohead if
that’s your cup o’ tea.
